Ecosystem approaches to ecohealth, emerged as a defined field of inquiry and applicationprimarily through the global research supported by the IDRC in Ottawa,Canada।However, this was a resurrection of an approach
to health and ecology that can be traced back,The approach was prominent among many scientists in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, but low into disfavour in the twentieth century, In this relatively brief period, evaluation of the negative means not positive health of the human being impacts of society change was allotted to the area of medicine and social health. One medicine, as developed by practitionerssuch as Calvin Schwabe, was largely considered great activity. These new movements were able to draw on a tradition that stretches from Hippocrates, to Rudolf Virchow and Louis Pasteur, who did not recognizethe teritorries between human and animal medicine and society and social changeEcohealth approaches as
currently practiced are participatory, systems-based approaches to understanding and promoting heath and wellbeing in the context of environmental or social interactions. What differentiates the approachesfrom earlier integrative attempts is a firm grounding in complexity theories and post-normal science, theprimary funder and promoterof ecohealth in particular, world-wide, is the IDRC in Ottawa.
